A team of 2,500 staff currently work at the Offenburg site in the federal state of Baden, the largest printing premises of the Hubert Burda Media group and one of Europe’s most modern printing centres. The data for some 600 million printed pages are processed here on a daily basis.
The editorial departments of the Medien Park publishing company – all housed in the modern premises of the Burda Media Park – produce classics such as BURDA MODEMAGAZIN, MEIN SCHÖNER GARTEN and FREIZEIT REVUE and are also responsible for the great success of new publications such as LISA and YOUNG. The Burda College of Journalism in Offenburg, which was opened in 2003 and runs the only course in journalism studies on offer across the federal state of Baden Württemberg, is paving the way for the future of Offenburg as a prime media location.
The Burda Advertising Centre oversees all of the advertising business of the group, in close cooperation with its local offices throughout Germany. Offenburg is also home to the Burda Media sales service, which supplies in excess of half a billion periodicals to more than 100,000 retailers in over 90 countries year in, year out. The Burda Eastern Europe Publishing Group, whose offices are also based in Offenburg, is the largest publishing group in eastern Europe. Offenburg also plays host to Burda Direct, which is responsible for the care of more than twelve million end customers, and Burda Digital Systems, which develops software solutions for e-business, B2B applications and mobile computing.
