Bambi 2007: Bon Jovi wins “Music International” Award

Current album “Lost Highway” is testimony to the band’s masterful sense of songwriting

The BAMBI 2007 "Music International" Award goes to Bon Jovi. The band will receive Germany’s most important media award for their masterful sense of first-rate songwriting. The latest proof of this skill is "Lost Highway", Bon Jovi’s most recent number one album which reached gold status a week after it was released.

"From the very early days, we have been convinced that it is all about the quality of the songs and that great songs will always evoke memories—not only in songwriters, but also in the people listening to these songs"” explains Jon Bon Jovi. "I would say this album marks our return to our roots. In the end, it has been a very basic thing: good stories combined with good music."

Bon Jovi formed in New Jersey in the early 1980s. Their first hits included "Livin’ On A Prayer" and "Wanted Dead Or Alive". In 1994, they released the widely popular rock ballad "Always". Even more successful was the band’s mega hit, "It’s My Life", in 2000. In 2004, the Grammy winners celebrated their twentieth anniversary. One of the world’s greatest superstar rock bands, Bon Jovi have played more than 2,500 concerts and have sold over 120 million albums worldwide so far.

Bon Jovi consists of Jon Bon Jovi (vocals), Richie Sambora (guitar), Hugh McDonald (bass guitar), Tico Torres (drums), and David Bryan (keyboards).

Their current single, "Till We Ain’t Strangers Anymore" feat. LeAnn Rimes, the third release from the album “Lost Highway”, is due out on November 30, 2007, the live DVD "Lost Highway: The Concert" on November 23.
