Award for up-and-coming talent

The New Faces Award discovers talented youngsters, puts them in the spotlight and turns them into stars. The Bunte award was launched in 1998 and has been introducing promising newcomers to a wide audience ever since. There are two categories: film and fashion/style. A jury of experts from the fashion, film and media industries decides who will receive the New Faces Award. In addition to the award itself – which takes the form of a red panther – the winner receives a cheque for EUR 10,000. They also benefit from public attention and a media presence.

Since its launch, the award has become a way of scouting for promising talent in the German film and television landscape and the fashion and design scene. Daniel Brühl, Jessica Schwarz, Hannah Herzsprung, Bettina Zimmermann and Matthias Schweighöfer are just some of the winners in the Film category to have established good careers.

Young designers are nominated for the New Faces Award in Fashion/Style whose collections reflect their personal philosophy and therefore have the potential to make their mark on the international fashion world. Here too, Bunte has paved the way for numerous creative youngsters, including Philipp Plein, Blutsgeschwister and Achtland.
