Offenburg is a particularly special blend of tradition and innovation. This is where the Burda family set up their printing business back in 1903 – a business they would go on to transform into one of Europe’s biggest media companies. Today, it has around 1,500 employees who spend their days helping to shape the media world.
Offenburg is where journalism meets our printing business. It is home to the Burda School of Journalism, where our trainees hone their craft, as well as our printing facility and brands in the Food, Health, Living, Entertainment and Garden segments. BurdaDruck produces around 50,000 magazines per hour in collaboration with the plants in Nuremberg and France.
Other key departments in the Ortenau district include BurdaDirect, BurdaServices and BurdaSolutions. Our building complex includes the famous Burda Tower, our modern media park (with canteen), a spacious multistory car park and the Burda Bambini childcare center. And Burda isn’t confined to the city center – it can also be found in the Fessenbach vineyards, where the company’s own wine is made.
