The challenge – what you will do...

• A great team: Product & Innovation is a diverse team united by their passion for building great products with the latest technology. Together with and for our businesses we initiate, develop, and run product and technology innovations, which create sustainable value for our businesses and their customers. Additionally, we identify and boost digital business models, products, and technology innovations
• We report directly to the Burda CEO
• Have the full start-up experience but with the benefits of an established media corporation
• Scout and evaluate new technologies and digital business models that have the potential to be the next game changer for the company
• Actively participate in and contribute to the start-up and innovation ecosystem of the company
• Lead product discovery and define product opportunities based on user, market and business hypotheses
• Validate hypotheses user centric and derive strategic recommendations
• Implement new product teams and facilitate execution after pitching for funding
• Lead cross-functional project teams of between three and five team members
• Work directly with profit centers across geographies and leading external experts

The perfect candidate – what you bring...

• True passion and excitement for digital technology, preferably in the media industry
• Hands-on builder mindset, who has actually built digital products or businesses
• Proven record of leadership within cross-functional teams
• Functional experience and expertise, including, but not limited to, product development, user research, business cases, performance measurement & analytics, portfolio and product strategy, and MVP development
• Analytical problem solving: You approach challenges methodological and result oriented
• Positive, hands-on mindset: You approach challenges with a positive attitude and are hands-on in finding solutions and taking initiative
• Strong sense of ownership: You take full ownership of your work, ensuring high-quality results and seeing projects through completion
• Confident communication & collaboration skills: You have confident communication skills in both German and English, allowing you to collaborate effectively within diverse teams
• Comfort in dynamic & agile environments: You are comfortable working in dynamic, agile environments and can adapt to change with ease
• Curious personality: You find joy in trying out new things & experimenting
• 3+ years of professional experience in a startup/ venture builder, or execution oriented consultancy preferred
