Jan Wachtel has been CEO of Burda Media since 1 January 2026. Before joining Burda, he had been responsible for the entire publishing business of the Bauer Media Group as President Publishing since 2023. Publisher Yvonne Bauer also appointed him to the Group's Executive Board. Previously, he held positions of responsibility at Axel Springer (Managing Director BILD digital, COO BILD Group) and RTL Germany (Managing Director RTL Germany, Chief Digital Officer and Chief Publishing Officer), among others. Wachtel has extensive and long-standing experience from strong media companies and has initiated and implemented successful transformation and growth processes for various media genres in his professional career.
