Since May 2020 Burda has been publishing the annual Gault&Millau restaurant and wine guide in close cooperation with the French licensor.
Gault&Millau stands for high quality gastronomy and the evaluation of local wines, a brand that represents pleasure as well as tradition and a modern outlook.
On November 4th 2020, the brand published the Gault&Millau Baden&Württemberg Wine Guide 2021, heralding a new era for its annual wine guides. This is the first of a new generation of regional wine guides published by Gault&Millau displaying a fresh look, new tasting techniques and a stronger regional focus. Six additional regional wine guides will follow in the course of 2021 in the following order: Palatinate, Franconia, Nahe and Ahr, Rheinhessen, Rheingau with the Middle Rhine and Hessian Bergstrasse, Moselle and Saxony and Saale-Unstrut.
On November 30th 2020, Gault&Millau launched the Restaurant Guide 2021. For the first time, the famous Gault&Millau was published by Burda and under the responsibility of Christoph Wirtz as new editor-in-chief. The guide recommends 1,000 restaurants spread across Germany for the year 2021 - including the 500 best restaurants in Germany and 500 additional excellent addresses. More than sixty restaurants have been newly included.
In the future, in addition to the annual restaurant and wine guide, the renown, traditional brand will be brought to the consumer in manifold ways. Additional platforms in the areas of magazine, online and video are planned as well new opportunities to cooperate with product partners.
