10 Questions for... Benjamin Nagelbach

None

In this interview series, we introduce employees from various areas of the company, so you can get to know us even better. Today: Benjamin Nagelbach, Team Leader in the Contracts department at the Adtech Factory.

Here Benjamin tells us what drives him and what he is particularly proud of in his team.

What exactly do you do at Hubert Burda Media?

I am team leader in the Contracts department at the Adtech Factory in Offenburg. We look after all annual client agreements as well as agency agreements that have been concluded. Personally, I am responsible for the agencies as well as the clients from the food and beauty sector.

When and why did you join the group?

In June 2017, I was looking for a career change and the job advertisement at Adtech Factory sounded very exciting, so I applied for it. Fortunately, it worked out right away. And to this day I feel very comfortable in the company.

What skills do you need to do your job?

For my job, a good understanding of numbers and contracts is important. In addition, you shouldn't be afraid of large sums of money and you shouldn't shy away from working with MS Excel. You also need good communication skills.

Which project are you particularly proud of?

Of the great work everyone did when BCN won the marketing of publisher Klambt. At the same time, we were also allowed to handle the commercial side of things. And I'm proud of how we handled the Covid challenge in our team. Bringing everyone technically up to speed within a very short time and introducing new routines in order to be able to work from home was a Herculean task and ultimately a success.

What is your next, big goal that you are working towards?

If we as a team manage to drive digitalisation in the Contract team, most of my goals and wishes will be fulfilled.

How has your work and private life changed as a result of the Covid crisis?

Having to limit your social contacts and spend a lot of time at home from one day to the next was very unusual and it took me a while to get used to it. Working from home was also very unfamiliar to me in the beginning. But it also has its advantages.

What advice has been particularly helpful to you in life so far?

A good structure and to-do lists can get you through the day in a much more relaxed way.

What advice would you give to young professionals?

Due to the many different areas of responsibility and new terms, it is very important to take notes right from the start. If you miss that, it's difficult to catch up. And sometimes you shouldn't think too long, but simply act.

What is the best way for you to switch off in your free time?

The best way for me to switch off is sports or spend time with my friends.

What are you looking forward to most after the crisis?

There are many things. At the top of my list is a visit to the gym. And then I'd like to go for a coffee in the city more often again, visit the football pitch and take a plane to go on holiday.
