Esquire Germany at newsstands on October 29th

None

A new title in the men's lifestyle magazine segment will appear on October 29. Esquire is a magazine for readers who are interested in fashion, society, culture and entertainment. It is published with a print run of 120,000 copies and costs six euros. The cover motif is a picture of Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey, photographed exclusively for Esquire by his 12-year-old son Levi during the lockdown.

The magazine is divided into the subject areas News, Life and Style.

"Our first Esquire issue is characterized by optimism. We want to look ahead with our topics in a progressive and cheerful way. In the current times we can all use that very well. Esquire is clearly structured in terms of content. A news section with new products, entertainment and dates. A life part, which is all about people's lives. And a style section, in which we set high standards for the visuals, fashion productions and photography in the whole magazine. One highlight is certainly our cover production and how it was created."

Dominik Schütte, Editor-in-Chief of Esquire

"We are happy that we can launch Esquire as a print product in these challenging times and that the magazine is so well received in the market. The first edition contains the who's who of advertising customers. With a total of forty ads, our expectations were clearly exceeded. Esquire offers our advertising partners exciting and high-quality environments and numerous creative solutions around the brand's offerings.”

Manuela Kampp-Wirtz, BurdaStyle CEO

"We want to reach our target audience wherever they are - that's why we have been continuously expanding our brand offering since March. The Esquire.de website was launched in March and immediately broke the 500,000 visits mark. For the launch of the print magazine, we are supplementing the brand cosmos with a podcast and an exclusive digital event, the 'Esquire Townhouse'."

Elfi Langefeld, Managing Director of Esquire

In the new podcast "Esquire Cast", editor-in-chief Dominik Schütte regularly interviews people with a story to tell. The first one in the series is cover star Matthew McConaughey. The Esquire Townhouse@your house takes place on November 5. The event was originally planned as a live experience, but due to the pandemic, it will take place virtually on the Esquire channels including Instagram (@esquiregermany), Facebook and on Esquire.de. Interviews and workshops with actor Daniel Brühl, series star Josh O'Connor and model Alpha Dia, among others, as well as an unplugged music session by The BossHoss are on the program and can still be watched on the Esquire platforms after the event.

The print launch is supported by a media campaign in print and online as well as measures at the POS. Esquire will appear quarterly from 2021. The magazine is another title that is being launched as part of the existing joint venture between BurdaStyle and Hearst (Elle, Elle Decoration, Harper's Bazaar) and under the management of Manuela Kampp-Wirtz. Esquire was first released in the USA in 1933 and is now a brand with a worldwide presence.
