First International Rotation… Welcome to Munich!

None

Very diverse. That’s how the new Burda More International Trainee Programme can be described: 18 months, seven rotations, one mentor and a 360-degree insight are offered to the trainees. Four young talents from four countries started their traineeship in January and have already gained some experience at Burda's international business units in the UK (Immediate Media), Czech Republic (BurdaInternational CZ), Thailand (BurdaLuxury) and France (BurdaBleu). In April, the trainees underwent their first international rotation, coming to Munich, Germany. This is the ideal opportunity for us to welcome them, get to know them and look at what is to come.

Denisa Kraftová: Being Creative at Burda Create!

Denisa is 26 years old, lives in Prague and studied cultural management with a focus on media and communication. She has already gained some experience in the publishing department at BurdaInternational CZ, where she had insights into the production and distribution of magazines. She was also part of the digital project department, supporting the development of websites for Burda CZ’s events and magazines. “It has been such an interesting experience! I was able to meet many unique people, I took part in cover photoshoots, and was able to witness all the exciting steps in the creation of magazines”, Denisa says. She is especially looking forward to living in Munich because of the chance to meet new people, as well as learn new things and get creative at Burda Create!, where she will work in digital transaction & advertising – focusing on the expansion of digital marketplaces. She describes her character as curious, creative and open-minded and is very interested in art, design, yoga, travelling and nature.

Maja Skomorowska: Experiencing Development at BurdaInternational

Emerging markets, growth opportunities and the exciting world of media: Maja, 23, lives and works in London. She has already been able to learn a lot about business and growth opportunities while working with the business development team at Immediate Media. In Munich, Maja will be supporting the BurdaInternational Finance team and will be working on business intelligence solutions for the events and e-commerce businesses. During her stay in Germany, she is looking forward to experiencing a new culture and getting to know Munich and other German cities: “Munich seems to be a vibrant city with lots of friendly people. Hopefully, I can explore other cities, but also learn more about the Burda business while living in Germany.” In her free time, Maja is passionate about painting, dancing, travelling, and reading detective stories.

Issima Morou: Making a difference at Burda Create!

Issima, 25, is our international trainee from France: She lives in Gonesse, near Paris, and supports the BurdaBleu team. She studied International Business, loves travelling and has been playing volleyball for many years. In Munich, she will support the Burda Create! team and is looking forward to an educative stay in Germany: “It’s my first time working abroad, so I am very excited! Especially as I am working on such an important topic – the international Burda Style platform. I can’t wait to play my part and learn new things.” Issima has family in Germany and has travelled to Saarbrücken several times and even Munich once. She was immediately enchanted by the beautiful Bavarian capital, as Munich surprised her with snow at the beginning of April, glistening beautifully in the English Garden.

Bhum (Ben) Jongsirilerd: Understanding success at BurdaForward

Ben, 25, is based in Bangkok, Thailand, and has joined BurdaLuxury. He majored in Business Management and graduated from Japan. Outside of work, Ben is obsessed with road trips, adventurous activities, and old music. You can always ask him for a road trip recommendation near Bangkok. At BurdaLuxury, he helped create and edit the new corporate website, optimising it for better usability. He also handled social boosting projects for BurdaLuxury’s brands to improve user engagement. What he’s looking forward to most? “I am excited to learn how Hubert Burda Media has become one of Germany’s largest technology and media companies and managed to be successful for decades! I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from the talented group of people and how the company operates different businesses.”

Joint Project

Ben is currently in Thailand, his stay in Germany is unfortunately delayed. We hope to be able to welcome him to Munich soon. The four international trainees will work on a joint project on social commerce while they are in Germany. The goal is to develop a branded social commerce proposition that utilizes the existing Burda ecosystem. In addition, they will learn about the company’s history and international vision, and get to know different Burda departments. In September, the trainees will make experience their next international rotation at one of the global hosts (UK, Czech Republic, Thailand, and France).
