Networking in Berlin: In the wonderful setting of the Kronprinzenpalais, Burda gathered numerous prominent personalities from politics, business, media and society on Tuesday evening for the summer reception.
On April 29th, Cinema and TV Spielfilm presented the 38th Jupiter Award, the audience film prize. The winning actors and producers – including Senta Berger, Simon Verhoeven, Sonja Gerhardt, Mina Tander and Jannis Niewöhner – collected their awards at Berlin’s “Moskau” café.
Artur Jung, editor-in-chief of Cinema, commented: “Films and series have the power to awaken a range of emotions. They make us laugh until we cry but also give us important food for thought. They entice us into fantasy worlds. They allow us to experience times that we could not or did not have to experience for ourselves and teach us things about our own lives – and yet they still remain entertaining. The Jupiter Award 2017 was the perfect representation of this varied and fantastic world.”
Lutz Carstens, editor-in-chief of TV Spielfilm, said: “Actors are chiefly responsible for bringing scripts to life. They make each production unique, whether they are playing a patient, a young woman, a time traveller or a desperate father. The winners of the Jupiter Award 2017 reflect the diversity and creativity of Germany’s acting scene and the quality of current film and series productions.”
