The asphalt was steaming under the scorching sun of Southern Germany on Thursday, but the common goal motivated the Burda runners: to be active, have fun and collect donations for Offenburg's disabled sports group.

„I was emancipated, even as a child. I was born this way.“ This is an Aenne Burda quote from 1994 - and this attitude in life was the basis for her subsequent success as the mother of today’s company Hubert Burda Media.

Back to the… 1950s: Offenburg dressed up on 20 November 2018 for a tribute to Aenne Burda. The occasion was the big premiere of the two-part TV feature film “Aenne Burda – Die Wirtschaftswunderfrau“.

At 5.15 pm they were ready to go: More than 400 sports enthusiasts gathered on the lawn in front of Burda Sportclub in Offenburg to warm up together on Thursday 19 July.
