From 15 to 17 January, DLD Munich 26 explored artificial intelligence, Europe’s digital sovereignty and the role of humanity in an increasingly accelerated world.
As the countdown to DLD Munich 22 continues, more speakers have announced their attendance at Burda's international innovation conference, which will finally take place live on-site again from 20-22 May in Munich. This year's winner of the prestigious Aenne Burda Award for Creative Leadership has also been announced.
Since 2006, the Aenne Burda Award for Creative Leadership has honoured women who have made a name for themselves through outstanding entrepreneurial and creative achievements. The trophy, a statue of Pallas Athena, is awarded in memory of Aenne Burda, who died in 2005. This year, the award goes to Andrea Pfeifer, CEO of the Lausanne biotech company AC Immune. The registered toxicologist and pharmacist has set herself the goal of developing a vaccine against Alzheimer's disease that provides preventive treatment for people who are particularly at risk. She initially worked in cancer research and as head of research at Nestlé before co-founding the Swiss biotech company AC Immune in 2003. The Aenne Burda Award for Creative Leadership will be presented on Saturday (21 May) by Burda CEO Martin Weiss and Elisabeth Furtwängler, daughter of publisher Hubert Burda and member of the Burda Board of Directors. Past award winners include Christiana Figueres, Mitchell Baker, Fatoumata Ba, Arianna Huffington, Viviane Reding, Edit Schlaffer, Auguste von Bayern and Maja Hoffmann.
More high-level speakers have confirmed their attendance at DLD Munich 22 like the CTO of Amazon, Werner Vogels, and Angelika Gifford, one of the most important managers of the Facebook company Meta in Europe who was recently promoted to Vice President for EMEA. Ilka Horstmeier (HR Director) and Frank Weber (CTO) from the BMW boardroom will also be speaking at the conference as well as Telefonica CEO Markus Haas.
