“RONZHEIMER.” has just been awarded the BAMBI 2025 in the “Culture” category. Paul Ronzheimer impressively demonstrates how podcasts as a cultural medium can inspire, inform and unite people.
One of the highlights of this year's BAMBI Awards will undoubtedly be the presentation of the BAMBI 2025 Award in the "International Actress" category to global star Cate Blanchett. The two-time Oscar winner has embodied queens and dandies, musical icons and tragic heroines – bringing the full spectrum of human emotion to the screen. She is an artist who weaves herself into every role, inhabiting and redefining it. With the award, Hubert Burda Media is not only honouring her artistic excellence, but also her tireless commitment to a fairer and more sustainable world.
"Cate Blanchett has been part of Hollywood's A-list for decades – proving that you don't have to be loud to be seen: her versatility as an actress continues to impress film critics. Her looks are simple, yet so beguilingly beautiful that we at InStyle repeatedly name her Best Dressed on our magazine. Her strong social commitment as a UN ambassador for refugees and her clear advocacy for climate protection are also remarkable. And although her private life never causes gossip, Cate Blanchett belongs to a special league of stars who always stay highly relevant and in the conversation."
Sophie Grützner, editor-in-chief of Instyle and member of the BAMBI jury
She masters the historical drama as effortlessly as the blockbuster, the comedy, and above all, the arthouse film. Unforgettable are her majestic severity as the British monarch in "Elizabeth" and her portrayal of Hollywood legend Katharine Hepburn in "The Aviator", which earned her an Oscar, as did her performance as the glamorous yet deeply broken society lady Jasmine in Woody Allen’s "Blue Jasmine". Her portrayal of Jude in "I’m Not There" – a boundary-defying interpretation of the many faces of Bob Dylan, once again proving Blanchett’s fearless commitment to her craft. Most recently, she captivated audiences as the power-obsessed conductor Lydia Tár in "Tár" – a role widely regarded as the pinnacle of her career, earning her both the Coppa Volpi in Venice and a Golden Globe.
Yet Cate Blanchett is more than a brilliant actress. She is a woman of conviction, using her voice to address the most pressing issues of our time. Since 2016, she has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, actively advocating for displaced people and visiting refugee camps in Lebanon, Jordan, Bangladesh and Sudan to draw global attention to their plight. Blanchett is also an advocate for climate solutions, deeply committed to environmental causes. She is a member of the Earthshot Prize Council, is the inaugural Ambassador for Wakehurst and the Millennium Seed Bank, and is a lifetime member of the Australian Conservation Foundation and the Australian Wildlife Conservancy.
