The transformative power, impact and limitations of AI were the focus of the first DLD Future Hub: Impact of AI. The conference took place from 9 to 11 September at the Amerikahaus in Munich.
One conference – two core themes: From 9 to 11 September, DLD (Digital, Life, Design) will host the first DLD Future Hub: Impact of AI. The focus will be on two of the greatest challenges and opportunities of our time: a sustainable economy (Circular Economy) and artificial intelligence (AI).
The international innovation community of Burda is organising the conference together with the Bavarian AI network BAIOSPHERE and BMW. International experts from politics, technology, science, and culture will shed interdisciplinary light on these topics on stage at the Amerikahaus in Munich.
Current geopolitical developments highlight the importance of sustainable economic cycles. The first day of the conference (9 September) will therefore be dedicated entirely to the circular economy – with a particular focus on how technologies such as artificial intelligence are driving its development. The Circular Day, curated by BMW Group and DLD, will seamlessly transition into the BAIOSPHERE Days. On 10 and 11 September, DLD and BAIOSPHERE will jointly examine the social and economic impact of AI. DLD strives not only to showcase the latest developments but also to question how they affect the way we live together.
“Whether in our daily work, industrial processes, medical data analysis, mobility, or the responsible use of resources – AI changes everything. It is crucial that we are all informed so that we can make conscious decisions. With the DLD Future Hub, we are shining a light on the most important technological development of our time and its impact on our society.”
Steffi Czerny, DLD Founder and Managing Director
“With the BAIOSPHERE Days and our partnership with DLD, we are fostering connections between science, business, and politics. Our joint conference is intended to become a place where ideas are born and synergies emerge – bringing the world to Bavaria and Bavaria to the world.”
Michael Klimke, Managing Director of the BAIOSPHERE Agency
For three days, tech experts, scientists, senior executives, politicians, and artists will provide forward-looking insights. Michael Förtsch (Q.ant) will present a new light-based approach to data processing. Hermann Hauser (Amadeus Capital), Ann-Kristin Achleitner (TUM), Christian Teichmann (BurdaPrincipal Investments), and founder Uljan Sharka will discuss Europe’s opportunities in the AI economy. Ronit Levavi-Morad (Google Research) and Alexander Pretschner (TUM) will explore the new reality of learning through generative AI. Energy as a driver of transformation will be the focus of Bastian Gierull (Octopus Energy) and Steffen Garbe (Phlair). Glenn Schmidt (BMW), Mark Buckley (Ellen MacArthur Foundation), and Ke Wang (World Resources Institute) will address the circular economy as a strategic tool. Other speakers include Björn Ommer (LMU), Fabian Theis (Helmholtz Munich), Stephanie Cohen (Cloudflare), Stefan Mesken (DeepL), EU politician Eva Maydell, author Douglas Rushkoff, and Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder.
