Blue Ocean expands portfolio

None

Blue Ocean, a Burda subsidiary in Stuttgart that publishes children’s magazines, is taking over the children’s portfolio of Pabel-Moewig Verlag KG (VPM) – a 100% subsidiary of the Bauer Media Group – and its traditional titles “Bummi”, “Bussi Bär” and “Lissy”. The first issues published by Blue Ocean will appear in June 2017.

Exciting additions

Sigrun Kaiser, CEO of Blue Ocean, comments: “We are delighted to welcome ‘Bussi Bär’, ‘Bummi’ and ‘Lissy’ to our publishing house! All three magazines are exciting additions to our diverse portfolio and will fit in perfectly. As a company, we have always placed great importance on commercial and content investments in traditional brands and have enjoyed great success in this area. ‘Bussi Bär’, ‘Bummi’ and ‘Lissy’ are three healthy titles with lots of potential and we will make them even more successful in future.”

Champion on the children’s market

By expanding its print portfolio to 58 regular magazines, Blue Ocean continues to focus on print products and, with more than 10 million copies sold in the past year, is proving that magazines remain a valuable media in the digital age. With outstanding IVW figures, the publisher is proving itself both in the children’s magazines segment and the magazine market as a whole.
