BurdaInternational, the global arm of media and tech company Hubert Burda Media, has announced three new key appointments in its Leadership Team effective January 1, 2024. Following the appointment of Martin Weese (COO of BurdaInternational) to Chief Digital Officer of BurdaVerlag, in January 2024, BurdaInternational CEO, Tom Bureau, has taken the opportunity to reshape his Leadership Team.

Simon Stilcken will join the Leadership Team and be appointed to the new position of Strategy and Operations Director of BurdaInternational. Reporting directly to Tom Bureau, Stilcken will lead the strategy team, developing and leading strategic programmes across the Group, as well as acting as a crucial link between global and local initiatives. As in his previous role as Head of Business Development and Strategy of BurdaInternational, he will continue working on Group-wide platform initiatives and lead commercial due diligence on international M&A projects. Simon will also take up a seat on the Supervisory Board of Cocolita, an online store in which BurdaInternational has acquired a majority stake in 2021.

“Simon’s strong strategy and business development background, coupled with his experience in consultancy and investment roles, make him an asset to our team. Since joining BurdaInternational in 2019, he has played a pivotal role in driving platform initiatives and supporting operational and M&A projects.”

As CRO, Tickell will continue to focus on maximising revenues across all countries, emphasizing digital, advertising technology and a platform approach.

“Duncan’s extensive track record in general management, strategic vision, and digital experience position him well to partner with BurdaMedia Extra and Burda Bleu for continued success.”

“Jo plays a pivotal role in fostering organisational development and ensuring our businesses are well-positioned for the digital era.”
