Burda Welcome Day

On November 21, 2023, there was a big hello at the Burda Welcome Day. A total of 70 new employees were warmly welcomed. 

As an essential component of onboarding, this virtual event gives new starters the opportunity not only to get to know Burda in all its facets, but also to exchange with each other as part of networking activities.  

The new starters gain useful knowledge about Burda as an employer, the company's history and the various working areas. By sharing personal infos such as coffee preferences, they quickly warm up to each other.  

Martin Weiss and Dr. Katharina Herrmann from the Management Board took the opportunity to personally welcome the new employees and gave insights into their careers and Burda's purpose.  

Great speakers made the day entertaining for the participants with the following topics:

• How BurdaForward went from publisher to the digital media company of the future   
• The secrets of “Silkes Weinkeller”, one of the leading online retailers for premium wines in Germany from Burda   
• How Burda Principal Investments invests in platforms across Europe   
• Why it makes more ecological sense to subscribe to “Bunte” for 70 years than to fly to New York   
• Burda's activities as part of "getting better" for more climate and environmental protection 
• New momentum in the active break after lunch‍  
• Overview of the organization and Burda Foundations  

The event is offered in German as well as in English for all international colleagues.
