Awarded for diversity and inclusion

None

London-based consultancy Equality Group, which focuses on diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the finance and technology industries, has launched its first inclusion index to rank the top 20 private equity and venture capital firms according to their diversity and inclusion efforts. BurdaPrincipal Investments, the international growth capital arm of media and tech company Hubert Burda Media, appears in the ninth position and is the only German VC fund to be ranked amongst the top 10 companies for diversity and inclusion.

“We are committed to advocating diversity as we believe that when people from different backgrounds and with different points of view work together, we can create the most value – for our people, our investments, and our society. I truly believe that diversity is a journey and there is still a long way to go. However, the findings encourage us to continue our efforts in this space and to make progress in all dimensions of diversity.”

Christian Teichmann, Managing Director of BurdaPrincipal Investments

„At Hubert Burda Media we recognise that diversity and inclusion make us not only a better place for work, but clearly more successful at what we do. “

Martin Weiss, Member of the Board at Hubert Burda Media

The index ranks the top twenty Private Equity and Venture Capital firms for diversity and inclusion by seven categories including explicit support for D&I; working conditions; and leadership. The index assessed 400 global Private Equity and Venture Capital firms with at least $1 billion under management. The index will now allow companies and the industry at-large to track D&I progress annually.

Further information on the findings can be found here.
