Computeruniverse and Cyberport Come Together

None

The sister companies Computeruniverse and Cyberport, both part of BurdaCommerce*, will in future be operating under a common umbrella. Both consumer electronics retailers will remain independent brands. Therefore, their customers will not be affected.

“By organising the two companies into one joint company, we are preparing Computeruniverse and Cyberport for the future. Our goal is to create an efficient and agile company with two clearly positioned, independent brands. We have therefore made a conscious decision to continue to operate in the market with both brands.”

Aliz Tepfenhart, CEO BurdaCommerce

Two brands, one company

Computeruniverse and Cyberport differ in their focus: while Cyberport has successfully and sustainably pursued a multi-channel strategy, focusing on trends and lifestyle, Computeruniverse relies on in-depth expertise even in niche areas. Under the new umbrella, the two companies will be able to benefit even more from each other’s expertise.

The change will therefore primarily affect internal workflows and processes, including the connection of the two technology retailers’ logistics locations. From autumn 2023, Computeruniverse’s entire logistics will be relocated to Siebenlehn (Großschirma, Saxony). This is where Cyberport’s logistics and dispatch centre is located. The area of this central warehouse has been doubled by the construction of a second hall, which went into operation in July 2023. The Friedberg and Dresden sites will remain, and the Computeruniverse and Cyberport brands will be managed from both locations. The umbrella company will operate as Cyberport SE.

*Under the common umbrella of BurdaCommerce, Burda bundles the e-commerce investment Cyberport SE – with the two brands Computeruniverse and Cyberport as well as the subsidiaries Cyberport Services GmbH, CP Retail GmbH and Cyberport IT-Services GmbH – the technology service provider Cybersolutions GmbH and the online retailer for premium wines Silkes Weinkeller GmbH.
