Cyberport Named Lead Entertainment Partner of NFL in Germany

Consumer electronics retailer Cyberport, a Hubert Burda Media company, will become the official Lead Entertainment Partner of the National Football League (NFL) in Germany from the 2022/2023 season. Cyberport will exclusively present the official Pregame and Halftime Shows during the NFL Munich Game and the NFL Frankfurt Game.

Like no other sport worldwide, American football combines top performance with entertainment and turns the games into unforgettable experiences for the fans. Millions of people in Germany already follow the games in front of their TV, smartphone, tablet or computer. The excitement for the 103rd NFL season and the first game of the regular season in Germany is correspondingly high among them. Cyberport and the NFL are jointly pursuing the goal of increasing the entertainment factor of the game and offering fans an even more unforgettable experience in the stadium and at home.

Entertainment in the spotlight

As Lead Entertainment Partner, Cyberport will present the Pregame Show in Munich on November 13, 2022, with a musical highlight and provide entertainment experiences in the fan zone. Cyberport also enables fans to access the games in Germany and the Official Super Bowl Party in Germany on February 12, 2023. In addition, football fans will find everything they need for a successful match day at the entertainment and technology expert Cyberport to bring the stadium feeling home and re-enact the game on their console.

About NFL Germany

The National Football League (NFL) is the most popular sports league in the United States. Its 32 teams compete to take part in the climax of the season, the Super Bowl, the league’s championship game. The mixture of sport and entertainment has made the Super Bowl one of the world's most watched sporting events.

The 2022/23 NFL season kicks off on the night of September 8, with the 57th Super Bowl being held in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, 2023.

The NFL is embarking on an exciting season in Germany, with its first regular-season game in the country being played on November 13, 2022. NFL Germany is responsible for the planning and execution of NFL activities in the country, under the leadership of General Manager Alexander Steinforth.

The NFL has been playing regular-season games outside the United States since 2007 and will this season stage a record five international games, including in the UK and Mexico.

The first NFL regular-season game on German soil will take place at Munich's Allianz Arena. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. local time (9:30 a.m. ET) on November 13. The Seattle Seahawks from the NFC West will face the two-time Super Bowl winners and current NFC South champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers - led by legendary quarterback Tom Brady.

Alongside Munich, Frankfurt has been selected by the NFL to host regular season NFL games in Germany over the next four years.
