Sabine Nedelchev hands over to the next generation

None

After more than 31 years at Burda and over 22 years as Editor-in-Chief of Elle and Elle Decoration Germany, Sabine Nedelchev is handing over the leadership of the luxury brands to Franziska Frosch on June 1, 2024.

Elle has been the best job in the world. I thank my great team for all the victorious years. And the publisher for the freedom and the great trust. But now it's time for a new generation.

Sabine Nedelchev, Editor-in-Chief Elle Germany

During her creative period, she gave Elle and Elle Decoration magazines their very own signature. In addition to numerous popular line extensions (such as Elle Traveller or, most recently, Elle Spirit), she also implemented the challenging transformation into a multichannel brand: Elle.de is now one of the most visited luxury fashion portals in Germany and a favorite partner for advertisers.

Sabine Nedelchev has dedicated her entire professional life to the success of the Elle brand world at Burda. She has played a major role in making us the most successful luxury publisher in Germany. My heartfelt thanks go to her for this and especially for the last twelve years of our work together. I wish her every success for the future.

Manuela Kampp-Wirtz, CEO BurdaVerlag

The new editor-in-chief, Franziska Frosch, has been with Burda since 1997 and has shaped Elle’s profile as Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Editor-in-Chief of Elle Decoration since 2017. Alexandra Link (previously Deputy Editor-in-Chief Digital) will take over responsibility for all digital outlets of Burda-Hearst Publishing (Elle, Elle Decoration, Esquire, Harper's Bazaar).

„I am delighted that we can continue Elle's success story with Franziska Frosch at the helm. She is a thoroughbred journalist who succeeds in inspiring readers and is also at home in the world of fashion, beauty, culture and travel," explains Manuela Kampp-Wirtz. „Alexandra Link has had a decisive influence on our brand world over the last few years in digital, social media and video and will continue to pursue this course.”
