Toni Kroos is the most successful German footballer of all time and inspires his fans worldwide. He receives the BAMBI in the “Sport” category for his unparalleled career and his social commitment.
On November 7, 2024, BAMBI, Europe‘s biggest media award, will once again take place in Munich at the Bavaria Film Studios. An estimated 1,000 prominent guests are expected to attend. This year, a new media partner will broadcast the show: for the first time, Prime Video will livestream the event.
Since its inception in 1948, BAMBI has grown from a traditional film award to a cross-media event. In 2023, BAMBI reached an audience of 4.85 billion and became a trending topic on social media. The event achieved a digital reach of 900 million through social networks and other online platforms. With this in mind, Burda, the brand owner of BAMBI, has decided to further evolve BAMBI in partnership with future-facing media providers – streaming services.
"BAMBI reaches more young people via digital media than through traditional television, and more than any other awards show. BAMBI transcends the boundaries of generations and technology. Streaming is the future of entertainment, and Prime Video is the perfect partner to help BAMBI make the leap into the digital age of video content."
Philipp Welte, Member of the Executive Board at Hubert Burda Media
"The live broadcast of BAMBI, one of Germany's oldest and most important entertainment awards, supports our mission to provide Prime Video customers with a diverse and relevant entertainment offering, We are very proud to be the first streaming provider to broadcast this prestigious event live."
Christoph Schneider, Country Director of Prime Video Germany and Austria
The live stream of BAMBI will be available to all Prime members at no additional cost.
