Expansion to Italy

None

Blue Ocean Entertainment, a leading publisher of children’s magazines in Europe and part of BurdaVerlag, continues its growth strategy and expands to Italy. The Stuttgart-based publisher is currently active in Spain, Portugal, France, Poland, Romania, and Hungary as well as in all German-speaking countries. With the formation of the Italian subsidiary, Blue Ocean now operates in ten markets.

The decision to expand to Italy follows a detailed analysis of the local market and will enable Burda to further optimize its international business in children´s media. The first magazines will be launched and published in 2024, including the successful LEGO magazine series Lega Ninjago, Lego City and Lego Minecraft. The product portfolio will continue to be defined in the coming months.

Managing Director in Italy is Tony Verdini, an experienced manager with over 20 years of industry experience. Tony Verdini worked for the Italian company, The Panini Group, for over 20 years, where he headed the marketing, sales, and business development units.

Blue Ocean´s Headquarters are in Arezzo, Tuscany. The publisher already has an office in Turin for the acquisition and handling of loyalty campaigns.
