CEO Martin Weiss is reorganising his team. Stefan Atanassov has been recruited as Chief Product Officer and Anne Karoline Frizen as Head of Corporate Development.
„We are the world’s most tourist-friendly company!“ says Georg Hesse, who has been CEO of the newly renamed HolidayCheck Group AG since February, at a fireside chat with Burda’s trainees last week, describing his company’s vision. Hesse, who joined Burda after having worked for Amazon, is an exciting person to talk to for Burda’s junior staff members. The company, formerly known as Tomorrow Focus AG, which includes travel brands such as, most notably, HolidayCheck and Zoover, is currently reorganized with the aim of being transformed into a leading European online travel agency.
These were interesting insights for the trainees, who asked the CEO numerous questions. “It is great that we were able to meet Georg Hesse today. There is a big sea change in the company and Georg brings along some exciting approaches from his former job”, says trainee Anna Beul.
Fireside chats are an integral part of the 18-month management graduate program, during which the trainees get to know Burda’s corporate divisions at different locations, one of which is abroad. “It is important to us that our junior staff members build up a network within the company from the very beginning and exchange views with our top managers. This format has proven successful in this regard”, as Christiane Storz, head of strategic staff development, elucidates.
