Premiere in the West Bank: For the first time, an international conference on strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem was held in Palestine entitled "3E: Empowering Entrepreneurial Ecosystems". In the city of Bethlehem, Palestinian entrepreneurs, government representatives, start-ups and technology companies met around 200 entrepreneurs and experts from Germany and Europe.
Burda organized the conference together with the Palestinian government as well as the network Global Shapers, an initiative of the World Economic Forum for young people who want to make a difference in their home towns. The guests included ProSiebenSat.1 CEO Max Conze and other CEOs of European technology companies such as Orange and Dell.
"Entrepreneurial spirit and networking across borders are essential for the emergence of innovative, stable ecosystems. We believe that the start-up scene in Palestine deserves more attention in order to retain local talent and build sustainable businesses. This requires networking with other successful start-ups and investors."

At the conference, she outlined what it takes for an entrepreneur to be successful nowadays. According to Czerny, a good network and true friends are essential.
The Prime Minister of Palestine Mohammad Shtayeeh addressed the participants with urgent words. “We cannot be up to date, we need to be up tomorrow!” In his speech, Shtayeeh also referred to the Jericho Sunbird represented in the logo of the conference and warned: "Birds that live in cages cannot fly. We have to break out of the cage!”
