Manuela Kampp-Wirtz, CPO at BurdaVerlag, was voted one of the 25 most powerful women in the German media landscape by specialist medium "Kress magazine". Here she reveals what advice has personally helped her.
After severe flooding in the German regions North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, which also affected the wine-growing region of Ahr, Gault&Millau is supporting an appeal for donations by the Association of German Wine Estates (VDP). Gault&Millau, Focus, Bunte, Slowly Veggie and other Burda magazines provide advertising space and publish the VDP's appeal for donations. The donations will benefit the wineries of the Ahr region and the reconstruction of winegrowing.
"With 'Gault&Millau', we have been closely connected to the winegrowers of the Ahr region for years, not least through the cooperation for our annual wine guides. The news about their current situation has hit us very hard. We support the VDP's appeal for donations, as we have the consistent claim not only to provide quality enjoyment, but also to ensure the reconstruction of the wine businesses and thus quality. By using the communicative reach of the Burda publishing house, we can meet our goal of helping the winegrowers as quickly as possible with this fundraising campaign."
Hans Fink, Managing Director Premium Food & Pictures, BurdaVerlag
The campaign is in line with BurdaVerlag's For Our Planet initiative. For Our Planet combines journalism, orientation and networking in the name of sustainability and climate protection. In a publisher-wide journalistic initiative, which is joined by the media of BurdaVerlag, there is increased reporting on the top issue of sustainability.
"'For Our Planet' supports the VDP's appeal for donations for two main reasons: Increasingly, weather extremes like the disaster in Ahrweiler are linked to advancing climate change. In addition, the VDP has long advocated consistent greening of viticulture."
