DLD invites influential and prominent personalities to Davos for the crowning finale of DLD Munich 25.
While the countdown for Burda's 15th innovation conference DLD (Digital, Life, Design) is running, other prominent speakers have confirmed their attendance: Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier is expected at DLD on the third day of the conference (January 21). For the first time, Munich's mayor Dieter Reiter will open the conference with DLD founder Steffi Czerny on January 19. In addition, Abe Chen from the Chinese car maker Byton has confirmed his attendance at DLD Munich. Byton recently presented the first electric SUV at CES the international consumer technologies trade fair in Las Vegas.
Aenne Burda Award goes to Africa for the first time
Since 2006, the Aenne Burda Award for Creative Leadership has honored women who have made a name for themselves through outstanding entrepreneurial and creative achievements. This year's award goes to Fatoumata Ba, founder of Africa's first Tech-Unicorn Jumia on the Ivory Coast and CEO of Janngo, a start-up ecosystem for Africa. The trophy, a statue of Pallas Athena, is awarded in memory of Aenne Burda, who died in 2005. Winners of previous years include Christiana Figueres, Mitchell Baker, Arianna Huffington, Viviane Reding, Edit Schlaffer and Auguste von Bayern.
DLD Party with Alma
This year, the legendary DLD Party will take place for the first time in the former heating station and today's Munich club Mixed Munich Arts (MMA). The star guest of the evening will be the Finnish singer Alma, who celebrated her breakthrough with the hit "Bonfire" together with DJ Felix Jaehn. In addition, the synthetic band Stroeme will get the party started together with the renowned video artist Betty Mü.
