Green electricity from the Burda roof

Anyone who was in the Munich office in Arabellastrasse this summer will have noticed and, above all, heard the work on the roof: our "Ara 23" building not only has a freshly renovated roof, but also a new solar system that will provide green electricity for our offices in future. Project manager Reinhold Haas took us up to the roof and gave us an exciting glimpse behind the scenes.

72 PV modules will convert the Munich sun into electricity

Not visible from below, the roof of our Burda building is full of pipes, cables, lightning conductors, radio masts and, more recently, the equipment for the new air conditioning systems. Nevertheless, Reinhold Haas, Head of Facility Management Technic, and his team have utilised every every inch of the roof to generate as much green electricity as possible. At lofty heights, he revealed to us the biggest technical challenge of the project and calculated how many office coffee machines our new solar system will be able to supply in future.
