In einer Redaktion arbeiten viele verschiedene Menschen. Unter anderem der oder die Chefin vom Dienst. Aber was macht solch ein CvD genau? Das schauen wir uns im aktuellen Behind the Scenes bei Focus Online genauer an.
Describing Munich’s housing market as “tough” would be an understatement, which is why BurdaForward has set up its first employee apartment in the district of Isarvorstadt. This allows new employees to settle in peacefully, get to know the city and start their job without launching straight into a stressful search for accommodation. Employees can live here for six months practically free of charge.
Arriving
“The BurdaForward shared apartment is our response to the housing shortage”, says Oliver Eckert, CEO of BurdaForward. “It gives our new employees plenty of time to find an affordable and attractive place to live.”
BurdaForward is a young company and is constantly hiring, but Munich’s housing market makes it difficult for many people to move to the city. The idea for the employee apartment grew from the desire to simplify relocation and give potential employees an incentive to come to Munich.
A great mix
The shared apartment was a deliberate decision to encourage colleagues from different fields to mingle from the outset. Employees from all salary brackets and departments live together in the BurdaForward apartment – from software developers to journalists – ideally creating an exchange across brands and departments.
Central location and flexible interior design
The apartment’s central location in the middle of Isarvorstadt enables new arrivals to explore the city at their leisure and settle in before searching for a place to live. The old building has just been renovated and decorated in collaboration with Ikea and Das Haus. Its flexible interior design offers residents shared work and living areas as well as plenty of private spaces.
Feedback from its new residents shows that the four-person apartment was a great idea: “The BurdaForward apartment has made it much easier for me to move to a new city – everything is taken care of. I felt at home straight away!” says Alina Bähr, an editor with Focus Online.
