Burda is active in 18 different countries on three continents. To see the bigger picture, we ask international colleagues in Burda offices all around the world to show us how they work. For the latest stop on our world tour, we spoke to the team at Immediate Media Bristol.
What makes your office unique?
We recently moved into brand new offices in the heart of Bristol. They’ve been designed to capture our great energy and enable us to collaborate with people and teams across the whole business – and we have an incredible roof terrace with stunning views across the city!
What are the advantages and disadvantages of working in Bristol?
Bristol is a beautiful city brimming with energy. We have theatres, concert halls, some of the best restaurants in the UK, great clubs, party places and green spaces. We lead the UK in sustainability activities and Bristol is also the home to many excellent media organisations, including Immediate! And we are only 68 minutes from London on the train. It’s a great place, with not too many disadvantages, although the local buses aren’t universally loved.
What’s your favourite spot to relax after work?
Bristol’s Harbourside is just a short walk from the office and has lots of great food and drink options, as well as the popular Watershed Independent Cinema.
Since forming in 2011, Immediate’s Bristol division has doubled in size, and now employs around 500 talented people who work across a wide range of professions, from journalism, sales and design, to video production, digital and app development. Immediate Bristol is home to some of the UK’s best-loved consumer brands, including BBC History Magazine, BBC Science Focus, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Your Home, Mollie Makes, BikeRadar and Cycling Plus, as well as Immediate’s Branded Content team, who produce print and digital content for an array of brands, charities and universities, including English Heritage, RSPB and Cineworld.
