Martin Weiss (56), Chairman of the Management Board of Hubert Burda Media since January 2022, will leave the company in January 2024.
Martin Weiss (50) is appointed member of the executive board of Hubert Burda Media. The appointment will take effect on August 1st 2017. Within the executive board, Weiss takes over responsibilities for the group’s international business from CEO Paul-Bernhard Kallen. To date, Weiss has been leading BurdaPrincipal Investments which invests in digital companies outside Germany (e.g. Etsy, Notonthehighstreet, Vinted, Showroom, Baublebar). In addition to his present responsibilities, he will now be in charge of the international publishing business which will continue to be led by Eckart Bollmann as its Managing Director.

Prior to joining Hubert Burda Media in 2015, Weiss was a member of the executive team at international telecommunications and media company Milicom. There, he was in charge of the expansion and transformation of the company’s digital activities in Latin America, the US and Africa. Weiss was also founder and partner of the strategy consulting firm Solon heading its London office between 2008 and 2013.
