In July the second round of the Burda Digital Degree was celebrated. CEO Katharina Herrmann and Marc Al-Hames presented the graduates with their well-deserved certificates and a toast was raised together.
The More International Trainee Program is a wide-ranging career entry programme for Master's graduates. The Trainees are employed by our respective companies in France, the Czech Republic, Poland, England or Thailand. Over the course of 18 months, they work in various areas along the media industry's value chain: Publishing, Digital Transaction & Advertising, Technology, Finance & Accounting and Business Functions.
While the Management Trainee Program is celebrating its 10th anniversary, the More International Trainee Program is currently in its second year.
The rotation mode for the More International Trainee Program is determined centrally by Corporate HR. The trainees rotate through seven departments with three foreign assignments of three months each. The start and finish for all is a 3-month station in the respective home country.
A major focus is placed on development. The training concept for the international counterpart is based on three pillars:
All trainees are accompanied by their mentor from senior management throughout the entire duration of the program.
Wiktoria and Christopher are participants in the current More International Trainee Program and are in Munich until the end of March. We met them there:
"I work at BurdaForward in the StreamPicker team," says Wiktoria from Burda Media Polska. "As it's part of the start-up system, we're currently preparing apitch for the next investment phase. It's very exciting to see what the first phases of developing an app look like. I am currently investigating measures to increase the number of users."
Christopher works in Product & Innovation and checks affiliate revenue streams. Specifically, how more revenue can be generated through social commerce. It can also sometimes be challenging to get to know different locations, departments and activities in a short space of time.
"You just need to know who to ask, that makes your life easier,"
Christopher tells us with a wink.
"In Poland, we only have one floor, as many employees work decentrally, whereas in Munich there are so many buildings and brands at different locations within Burda."
Wiktoria is enthusiastic about the Munich location.
There are also events that the More International Trainees attend together with the Management Trainees. They are invited to Burda’s innovation conference DLD, fireside evenings and networking activities, such as the "OpenSpace". These are talks, workshops or mini trainings organized by trainees for trainees.
