Olaf Holzhäuser Appointed as CEO of Burda Create!

Olaf Holzhäuser is appointed as CEO of Burda‘s crafting unit Burda Create! and Managing Director of the publishing house Aenne Burda with its core brand Burda Style. The appointment will take effect on December 1, 2022. Holzhäuser has been with Hubert Burda Media since 2001 and has held various positions in the national and international business, including in Munich and Paris. After working for Red Bull Media House in Austria, Holzhäuser returned to BurdaInternational in 2018 and has been responsible for the national and international sewing pattern business as Director Retail since November 2019. In his new position, he reports directly to Tom Bureau, CEO of BurdaInternational.

Olaf Holzhäuser, future CEO of Burda Create!


Olaf Holzhäuser takes over from Henning Röper, who has been responsible for the development of Burda’s crafting segment as CEO of Burda Create! since 2019. Prior to that, he has been intensively involved in shaping BurdaInternational’s diverse publishing business as a consultant for several years. Röper will hand over the business to Olaf Holzhäuser and will then leave the company at the end of 2022 at his own request and on good terms. Tom Bureau says: “We thank Henning Röper very much for the longstanding close cooperation and his great commitment. He has rebuilt the internationally operating crafting unit Burda Create! and expanded our activities in this segment considerably. We regret his departure and wish him all the best for his personal plans.”

Background

The crafting unit Burda Create! includes the publishing house Aenne Burda with its core brand Burda Style, whose products are available in 17 languages, the publishing house Editions Dipa in Strasbourg, which publishes various crafting brands in seven European markets, BurdaNordic, which is managed from Denmark, and the Swedish based pattern distributor Toppatterns. Burda Create! is the fourth pillar of BurdaInternational, alongside the other media businesses Immediate Media, Publishing Europe and BurdaLuxury.
