A new US administration is taking office, the German general election is just around the corner, and the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on all aspects of everyday life is growing: DLD Munich 25 takes place at a time of great change. From 16 to 18 January 2025, Burda's international innovation platform DLD (Digital, Life, Design) is calling for a positive outlook on the future under the motto ‘Future Positive’.
More than 200 interdisciplinary experts will take to the DLD stage to shed light on how to shape the future for the better. These include the leading candidate of Bündnis 90/ Die Grünen, Robert Habeck, Meredith Whittaker (Signal), Yossi Matias (Google), Nile Rodgers (We are family foundation), James Landay (Stanford Institute for Human-centred Artificial Intelligence), Chris Anderson (TED Conferences), Verena Pausder (German Startup Association) and Astro Teller (X, the moonshot factory). Other confirmed speakers include Björn Ommer (LMU Munich), Klaus Hommels (Lakestar), Michal Kosinski (Stanford University), Sophie Schmidt (Rest of World), Azeem Azhar (Exponential View), Tristan Harris (Center For Human Technology), Maria Furtwängler (MaLisa Foundation) and Richard Edelman (Edelman).
DLD is celebrating its twentieth anniversary with an extra-long flagship conference. Starting on Thursday morning (16 January 2025), the first half-day of DLD Munich 25 will be all about AI. The program will be curated by the DLD team in cooperation with the Bavarian AI agency BAIOSPHERE. DLD Munich 25 will once again take place at the Serviceplan Group's House of Communication in Munich's Werksviertel.
“20 years ago, we started with a small community and explored the technological revolution of the time, the Internet. Today, our focus is on new, disruptive technologies. But the goal is the same: at DLD, we want to bring together the brightest minds, the most creative innovators and the most influential visionaries to inspire and shape the future. Because in times like these, what matters most is that we build a community of pragmatic optimists - people who not only imagine a future worth living, but actively shape it.”
Steffi Czerny, DLD curator and founder
This requires people who feel called to shape our present and our future. In order to network across generations and develop visions, DLD is launching a new conference format: The DLD20s. Selected pioneers in and around their 20s will be invited to DLD Munich 25, where they will share insights into their projects on stage and in interdisciplinary panels.
