Predicting the future with data science

What do an astrophysicist, an economic geographer, an economist and a microbiologist have in common? They all work for Valiton's Business Performance team and are experts in data science. “The interdisciplinary nature of our team is a great strength. We all come from different academic backgrounds, but have a joint passion for numbers and data in general,” says Christian Just, Head of Business Performance.

In the video, Christian, Angelika, Matti and Dennis explain what they are working on at the moment, how artificial intelligence can be used to predict future consumer behaviour, how natural language processing can be used to optimize e-commerce platforms - and what makes Valiton a great place to work.

"For me, the Valiton spirit can be summed up in three words: Discovering, implementing and making things better than they were before."

Matti Toomes, Senior Business Consultant

At Valiton, around 40 developers, project managers and Scrum Masters in Munich and Offenburg work on data science, data engineering, business performance analytics, software development, machine learning and the development and operation of e-commerce platforms.

Valiton GmbH is an IT service provider and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hubert Burda Media.
