On the Road to Success With Homewear

None

This year has changed our everyday life in many ways: home office has become the new normal, instead of eating at restaurants, people cook at home and the gym has been traded in for home workouts. Our wardrobe has also notably changed: we are saying goodbye to business looks, fancy dresses and jeans – instead, we have discovered a new love for comfortable homewear. To fulfill this longing, the first issue of Burda Special focusing on homewear was published on September 30.

Burda Special Homewear

The special edition of the sewing magazine Burda Style spotlights everything to do with your own home. On over 80 pages, the sewing experts at Burda Style have compiled patterns for comfortable outfits, slippers, sleeping masks, and other accessories as well as creative ideas for your home. Priced at €7.90, the special edition has been so successful that Burda Style has already announced to continue Burda Special Homewear in 2021!

More to come…

Next year, two more issues of Burda Special Homewear will be published, focusing on “active summer” (spring/summer) and “active autumn” (autumn/winter). The most successful Burda designs and projects for the best activities at home, tailored to the respective season, will be featured. The issues will include patterns and sewing instructions for seasonal leisure activities such as wellness and yoga, outdoor trends such as camping, bicycle tours, summer by the lake or on the local beach, and autumn/winter basics.

Newly discovered beauties

"Due to the ongoing corona restrictions, we have learned to appreciate our immediate surroundings in a completely new way - whether it is our own home, the region we live in, or the many beautiful spots our country has to offer. In our Burda Special Homewear, we cover these newly discovered beauties in an environment of sustainability, creativity, and individuality."

Successful anniversary year

The Burda Style team can look back on a successful year 2020, in which the brand celebrated its 70th anniversary. Although some planned creative events could not take place due to the corona crisis, other marketing activities such as the Heritage Collection have celebrated great success. The collection will therefore be continued beyond the anniversary year. The popular autumn issues in particular - including the anniversary issue in September - led to an increase of 4.1 percent in retail sales as well as a 1.8 percent rise in retail sales and subscriptions compared to the previous year (IVW III/20). Online sales were also up by 50 percent compared to the previous year in the first half of 2020.
