The BAMBI 2024 in the “Our Earth” category will be awarded tonight to one of the most successful extreme mountaineers of our time: Reinhold Messner.
Barely 24 hours before one of the year's biggest media events, final preparations are underway for the dazzling BAMBI Awards ceremony at Bavaria Studios. A massive 4,200 square meters of carpet have been rolled out to welcome 1,000 VIP guests to this iconic social event. The 13 BAMBI trophies are being polished to perfection before being presented to national and international award recipients tomorrow evening, November 7.
While many of this year's BAMBI winners have already been announced, one exciting detail is now confirmed: Robbie Williams himself will be coming to Munich to receive a BAMBI in the category “Entertainment” – his third BAMBI award. And that’s not all: he will open the BAMBI ceremony with an exclusive live performance of a brand-new song from his upcoming film, Better Man – The Robbie Williams Story, set to premiere in theatres on January 2, 2025.
A host of well-known personalities from the worlds of film, television, music, culture, fashion, sports, politics, and business are set to attend the ceremony. Expected guests include Caroline Peters, Francis Fulton-Smith, Maria Höfl-Riesch, Franziska Knuppe, Twenty4Tim, Matthias Steiner, Josephine Skriver, Victoria Swarovski, and Sasha, who will each make their entrance along the 250-meter Red Carpet.
BAMBI fans can experience the excitement from home with a special pre-show: starting at 7 PM, Prime Video Germany will livestream the arrival of the stars on TikTok (@primevideode), featuring exclusive interviews hosted by Melissa Khalaj. At 8 PM, the broadcast will switch to the Prime Video streaming platform, where host Viviane Geppert will present highlights from the Red Carpet before the main ceremony coverage begins at 8:15 PM. Approximately 100 fans will be gathered along the Red Carpet to catch a close-up view of the stars as they arrive at Bavaria Studios.
Preparations for the grand event have been in full swing across Munich. Meanwhile, in the Swabian town of Süßen, the iconic 28-centimetre-tall golden BAMBI trophies, cast by hand since 1958 at the Strassacker art foundry, have been crafted to perfection. Each BAMBI is made from bronze, plated in 18-carat gold, meticulously polished, and set on a crystal base by Chopard. Weighing in at 2.5 kilograms, these trophies require some muscle to lift for the TV cameras and photographers.
Over the past two weeks, Bavaria Studios 9 and 12 have been transformed into a stunning setting for the BAMBI Awards. Hundreds of square meters of high-gloss black panels have been installed, nearly 3,000 square meters of gold curtains have been draped, and around 800 spotlights are ready to illuminate the hosts, presenters, winners, and show acts. A network of 80 kilometres of cable will ensure flawless broadcasting on Prime Video.
Following the awards ceremony, guests will be treated to an elegant dinner, with 80 festively set tables. In total, more than 800 dedicated staff members are working to create a perfect BAMBI Awards experience for 2024.
