BCN and Burda’s four national media groups came together on Thursday in Munich’s Upside East for the second Health Lab by Burda, an exclusive industry event.
The team of Mein schöner Garten knows a thing or two about growth and thriving. This is also reflected in the market leader’s (IVW) top new digital results. Mein schöner Garten achieves considerably more than five million visits (IVW March 2017) on its online portal, which was revamped in April last year. Traffic on the site has doubled within one year, having increased by 2.5 million visits.
“This is enormous growth that consolidates the leading position of Mein schöner Garten on the market further”, says Patrick Schindler, head of product management & e-commerce at BurdaHome, pleased.
“The increase in traffic also has very positive effects on the integrated online shop. The services of the Mein schöner Garten portal are unique in that they link high-quality content very closely to commerce in a well-conceived way. This premium brand enjoys particular trust with consumers based on decades of experience and proven expertise.”

Modern, mobile and very useful
After having been adapted specifically and converted to Burda’s Thunder content management system and Drupal distribution, the Mein schöner Garten portal is state of the art technically and user-friendly on all mobile end devices. The agency “undpaul” received the Splash Award as best Drupal project in the publishers/media category recently for the best possible implementation of the Mein schöner Garten relaunch.
“We focus strongly on user value and so-called problem solvers, such as instructions on how to prune a hydrangea and on what to do against mold on flower soil. This kind of article simply works best. We also produce our own videos when that makes sense. How-to guides for pruning plants work excellently as moving images. But users can also find all sorts of ideas for designing garden landscapes, plant portraits and creative crafting ideas they can try out themselves.”
Folkert Siemens, head of digital content at Mein schöner Garten
The online portal of Mein schöner Garten is closely linked to the brand’s social media channels, which also increase their reach continuously.
