Practical, comprehensive, and with sound theoretical foundations: That’s the Burda Digital Degree, our new development programme. The first course starts in November 2022 – and you can apply now!

The Burda Digital Degree (BDD) is a challenging training programme that equips participants with the necessary tools to build and grow digital businesses. Participants can look forward to nine exciting months of intensive project work, during which they will strengthen their digital business competence. Practical relevance is ensured by concrete use cases from the entire Burda group of companies as well as external companies - and the opportunity to work directly on your own ideas.

“The Burda Digital Degree provides in-depth knowledge about opportunities and success factors in the digital business. The entrepreneurial aspect is pivotal to us: We aim to empower people to convert their learnings directly into action. With the Burda Digital Degree, we enable strongly committed colleagues to build on existing success stories, to create something new – and thus to play an even more active role in shaping innovation.”

Katharina Herrmann, Chief Human Resources Officer at Hubert Burda Media

From Learning to Action

The BDD offers a rich portfolio of different learning formats and combines digital self-learning elements with live modules. Keynotes on digital trends, fireside chats with experienced experts and excursions to innovative digital companies complement the programme.

Theory and practice are closely interwoven during the nine months. Participants complete five modules. As they learn about the chances and risks of digital business models, they become equipped to properly assess promising future opportunities for Burda, such as new digital products and platforms.

The Burda Digital Degree is designed for people who are willing to broaden their perspectives and who aspire to lead a digital business in the future. Typically, the participants will be Burda employees with tenure between two and five years and have a business or technical background. They should already have gained initial experience with digital business models. Also required is a high degree of dedication, a willingness to engage in continuous self-learning, group work and project work, and the ability to free up sufficient time for classroom events while doing their jobs. The entire programme is in English, as is all the learning content.

Apply now!

Interested employees can apply until September 30. Applications must include a motivational video that you should send together with a letter of support from your line manager. You will find detailed instructions below.

If your application is successful, you will be invited to a selection day after which all participants receive personal feedback. Colleagues who are not chosen can re-apply next year - because the Burda Digital Degree 2022 is just the beginning.

“Building and growing digital products and platforms is a Burda core competency. By strengthening that, we can become even more successful in the future!”

Katharina Herrmann, Chief Human Resources Officer at Hubert Burda Media
