Zara Larsson wins BAMBI as international music star

Known for her crystal-clear voice, Zara Larsson has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame and is already an internationally acclaimed superstar. Only 25 years old, she is an exceptional artist whose musical journey began with a global hit at the tender age of 25. As a ten-year-old, Zara Larsson covered Céline Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" in the final of the Swedish talent show "Talang 2008" - and won. This signaled the start of an unprecedented career, for which she is honoured with a BAMBI in the category “Music International.”

The musician will be there in person at the glamorous awards ceremony on 16 November at the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich to receive her golden deer. The event which will be broadcast live on Sat.1 from 8:15 pm.  

From child star to influential pop star 

Zara Larrson regularly tops the charts around the world: she has had numerous number one hits, worked with likes of David Guetta on the Euro 2016 anthem, and won gold and platinum awards, making the young Swede one of the biggest pop stars of our time. It is not just her success that stands out, but also the fact that she achieved it at such a young age: in January 2013, the then 15-year-old released her debut album. The first song, 'Uncover', reached number one in the Swedish and Norwegian charts. In 2015, the hit single "Lush Life" brought her international breakthrough - at the age of 18. In 2016, the 19-year-old was named one of the 30 most influential teenagers by TIME magazine. Zara Larsson has repeatedly stood up for the rights of the queer community. Her music video for "Symphony" tells the love story of two black gay men. The video has been viewed over a billion times. 

Germany's most important media award is back  

To mark its 75th anniversary, Hubert Burda Media is bringing BAMBI back after Germany's most important media award had to be suspended three times due to corona and crises. Since 1948, the BAMBI has honoured personalities who have had a special impact on Germany, who have achieved outstanding things and who are role models for the people of Germany. This year, the award is expected to be presented in twelve categories. BAMBI's media partner is the Seven.One Entertainment Group. BAMBI will be broadcast live on November 16, 2023, from the Bavaria Film Studios by TV channel SAT.1 from 8:15 pm.
