Compliance for us means responsibility for our actions as entrepreneurs, for our employees, for society and for the environment. For entrepreneurial generations as a family business, we have lived out responsibility with the goal of actively driving positive change in society.
To ensure our ethical and legal compliance, we have set up a comprehensive compliance management system. The focus here is on our Code of Conduct, which is specified by Group guidelines. In addition to regular compliance risk analysis, we have developed a digital whistle-blowing system to detect and investigate breaches at an early stage. This whistle-blowing system allows employees, business partners, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders to submit confidential reports of violations of the law, the Hubert Burda Media Code of Conduct or Group guidelines.
In addition, the compliance with and safeguarding of human rights and environmental standards is of great concern to us. We source products and services from suppliers in various countries around the world. For this reason, we have defined rules that must be followed by us and our business partners. Information about how we meet our due diligence obligations with regards to human rights and the requirements we place on our suppliers can be found in our Basic Policy on Respect for Human Rights and in our Supplier Code of Conduct. For more information on the complaint procedure under the German Act on Corporate Due Diligence in Supply Chains (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, LkSG), please refer to our Rules of Procedure.
